Photographic Experience
1995 - 2001- Studied
photography with internationally known photographer Jay Stock (A.S.P.).
Course work included using a variety of photographic techniques, teaching a
seminar on rear projection photography, and working with models on location
throughout Maine. The class was a five year long seminar ending with
graduation in 2000 with a certification in portrait photography.
1998 and 2002 - Studied
with internationally known photographer Freeman Patterson. The course
of study included a strong emphasis on the photographer's relationship to
his subjects, photographic composition, light and using creative techniques
such as multiple exposure.
1994 - 2007 - Steve Dunn
works as a fine art photographer, using such techniques as Polaroid
manipulation, multiple exposure, montage and rear projection. He
teaches photography classes with an emphasis on visual design. His
work has been published in Down East Magazine and he is currently working on
a book of his images of Monhegan Island. Mr. Dunn's prints are part of
art collections throughout the United States.
His fine art prints are
displayed at sidewalk art shows and galleries throughout Maine. The
galleries in which Steve has displayed his work include: The Birdsnest
Gallery in Bar Harbor, The Chocolate Church in Bath, Harlow Art Gallery in
Hallowell, The Penobscot Trading Co. Gallery in Sedgwick, Huston-Tuttle &
Gallery One in Wiscasset and others.
Mr. Dunn has received three
gold medals for work submitted to the Austrian Super Circuit, which is the
largest juried international photographic exhibition in the world.
From 2001 to 2006, his images were part of several exhibitions in Europe.
Eight of Steve's images are part of a photographic exhibition in Europe.
His work was also on exhibition in Asia in 2004-2005.
